  • Another vote for Oak Plantation. Much easier to get to than James Is., IMO. Shade in lots of spots.
  • About 10-15 miles north on the intracoastal is Buckhall Recreation Area. The rv sites have E&W and a couple have sewer. A very nice quiet, laid back place to stay. There are only about 20 sites, a picnic area, and a boat dock.
  • We just stayed at the Oak Plantation campground west of Charleston, West Ashely, I believe it was called. It was a very nice campground.
  • James Island County Park! nice sites, lots to do in the park. great playground a short walk from the camping area!
