I have to look at all these folks looking for camping groups and wonder if they've checked into the easiest things first, like Good Sam chapters. Sure, they may have regulars that are mostly older folks, but those older folks might enjoy having kids around, or might have grandkids that they bring...and campgrounds are always full of kids. You can also bring school buddies.
Organizations like the FMCA has chapters, as do owner's associations, like the Winnebago Itasca Traveler's Club. RV dealers often know how to contact local groups, or ask at local campgrounds. It just sounds like a lot of people are trying to reinvent the wheel, when there are already lots of clubs around. I know some folks like to run things their way, I'm just saying maybe these are options that people haven't realized existed, or that may be easier.
And remember, if you're a Good Sam member, and don't think you're a good fit for the existing group...fix it! Start your own chapter.
