Need some camping game/activity ideas for teens

I need some game/craft/activity ideas….. My 14 yr old daughter is taking 3 other girls on an 8 day camping trip to south Texas. The girls are good about finding things to do but I would like to have some activities for them. Any ideas?

I was thinking about a scavenger hunt where they take pics of things (feather, blue flower, squirrel, ect) with their phones (instead of collecting items).

I was also going to buy some frisbees and buckets to do a version of frisbee golf.

The games can be individual or teams of 2.

Thanks!

  • I take a 7th and 8th grade Sunday School class on a camping trip each spring and again in the fall. They like to:

    1. Plan and cook the meals (outside and on a fire)
    2. Scavenger hunt. You can get some good ideas on pinterest with a search for scavenger hunt.
    3. Tell ghost stories. They always have their phones and they look them up and read them. The one that finds the best (funniest, scariest, etc.) wins a prize (candy bar).
    4. Make s'mores. Regular and then with Oreos, in a pie iron, google different ones.
    5. Hike the trails.
    6. Bocce ball. (We have a set that we carry all the time in the 5'er.)
    7. Volleyball. One of them always brings a ball.
    8. Manhunt after it gets dark and before quiet time because it can get LOUD!!
    9. Craft projects - easy and useful ones. (I get on pinterest a week or two before we go and find something to do. In the spring, we usually do something for the Easter season and in the fall, we do something for Halloween, T'giving or Christmas).
    10. Card games, especially spoons, Rook, spades and hearts and chicken-foot dominoes.

    Hope this helps.
  • A double 12 set of Mexican Train dominoes will keep them going for hours and hours. Games that involve some luck, and some decision making skills are the best fun for all. We also enjoy "off road" Bocce. The balls are softer and can be played on rocky beaches, in the woods, down gravel roads or practically anywhere.
