Broad statement on KOAs. Once I thought the same things but have started comparing individual locations. I've stayed in KOAs with super friendly staffs and reasonable rates. These are generally not the KOAs with all the amenities but that is not what I'm looking to use or pay for. I tend to call for reservations at private parks and a phone conversation gives you a good idea of what to expect.
