I am not trying to be facetious or sarcastic here. I am really curious. I personally don't have a problem breaking rules that I don't respect, and I am willing to accept the consequencses for that. When it comes to occupancy at an RV park, I choose to respect the people that run the camp and the other people around me and be honest. However, if someone else chose to 'sneak' a seventh person that just happened to be a newborn baby I wouldn't fault them at all. I feel this way because I see an inconsistency in the rules. At the park I was looking at, I could have been within the rules by taking six people and two dogs, but I can't have seven people. That seems odd to me. It also seems like the kind of siutation where a campground manager should be able to look at the totality of the circumstances and make a judgement call.
But in the end, I don't make those decisions, and I am very new to all of this, so I chose to find a different park close by that better fit me. It all worked out and no rules were broken. Well, no rules have been broken yet anyway. I won't make any promises about the speed limit once I get on the insterstate.
I've bolded the key point - you're ready to take the consequences of your lie.
The issue in this thread is two-fold:
1. it wasn't the OP making a personal choice to break a rule, it was others recommending to the OP that he breaks the rule. while I might speed on occasion, I would never recommend to someone else to "oh, just speed all the way to make better time".
2. not only was it recommended to lie and break the rule, it was recommended that if the OP got caught to ask for a refund. This is not accepting the consequences. This is lying and then expecting to get out of the consequences because "I shouldn't be held to the same rules as everyone else".
