Ft. Robinson State Park in the far NW corner of the NE panhandle is a pretty interesting place in itself, with museums and a pool and horseback riding, etc.
The American Indians have a gathering there every year in June.
It's called the Inter-tribal Gathering and is scheduled for June 6 through 8.
If you decide this is worth it, you should make reservations because the full hookup RV campground isn't real big.
