Well here is the other side of it.....
We are resort campers. Not because DW and I would not rather enjoy the atmosphere of an SP or COE campgroung. But because we have a large family. With six children we are looking for CGs with as many ameneties as possible. Water, ELECTRIC, Pool, playground, laundry, clean showers, bounce pillow, store, ice cream, firewood, karaoke, crafts, fishing, or whatever you got. It keeps the kids happy, provides Dad some brief moments of peace, makes the trip more convenient and therefore less work. (if that is possible) Some will say that the kids could do just as well in an SP, but they have not walked a mile in my flip flops.
One day we will hit the SPs, but not any time soon.
