Well I did it! Got the camper out of storage!

I decided I'm taking my family camping this weekend (Sunday morning - Monday evening).

I just decided this about 2 hours ago that I'm was going to get my camper out of storage and start getting ready. Didn't take too long to get her hooked up and home. Lucky for me I store my camper a short distance from my house which is convenient.

Just need to pack some clothes and food and we'll be off for a couple of days. There is still a lot snow here in Montana at the higher elevations so we're going to the base of the Rocky Mountain front near Augusta. Beautiful area around the lakes (if you're looking toward the mountains) anyways. I've been waiting since the end of November for this!

I told DW about these plans 2 hours ago - she kind of looked at me crazy and then got on board I think once she saw my enthusiasm for being somewhat spontaneous.

It will get below freezing at night but hell with it - can't wait.

Anyone else about get their rigs out of hibernation?
  • IF I'M LUCKY I'll be able to uncover and prep mine BY MAY!!! We still have feet of snow on the ground and temps -0 at night!!! I also think that the ice in my driveway is about 3-4" thick and will have to melt before I can move my MH.
  • This is a great example of the true RVer spirit.

    Just GO!

  • Gave you checked all your systems are in working order before you pull out? Full propane, full freshwater tanks, good tire condition, lights and signals are working?
  • The weather is looking good for now in NC, I too am checking my calendar to see if I can get away within the next ten days. I keep my camper just off of my driveway. I need to go food shopping and I will be ready to hit the road.
  • Ours never goes into storage. Granted being in AR makes winter camping easier, we go on a whim all the time.
