Just wanted to say that of all the states I've camped in (ok not many but still), michigan seems to be the one where everyone just HAS to gather around while you pull in (or back in). And dry camping means just don't get caught lol.
Personally, I don't care if I have to block the road for 20 minutes. Its a campground, its a trailer not a car with a tent, so these things take time. That pretty much goes out the window though when the DW is telling me to hurry up. Most of the time we end up taking another tour of the campground with trailer in tow when that happens.
I think it is pretty much universal though everywhere we have been, there is always someone trying to drive through while I'm trying to get into my site. Always. And they have no patience. Its not like I'm out there chit chatting...I'm going as fast as humanly possible.
Worst was up in traverse city. Campground at capacity, sites kinda crammed together, I have a site that is as level as a mountainside, so I need to take my spring bars off to get in. I swear I must have been there 3 minutes before a lady pulls up and without waiting even one minute, beeps at me in her little car. I look back and continue what I was doing, and she gets out and tells me she is waiting for me. Like really? Then the DW chimes in.
Off around the campground we went lol. I know most places want you to back in....thats the one time we went nose in, cause I was done dealing with it.
I feel for ya, tpc... I allow people as much time as they need to get in and only offer a friendly wave (the kind saying "take your time"). I'm praying one day someone will do the same for me. Because the last thing I need is added stress or pressure when I'm trying to get into my site.
