- camperdaveExplorerIn my limited knowledge and reading, you can pretty much determine how quality an inverter is based on price and weight (heavier is better). Not always true of course, but it's pretty sure than a 3kw inverter from Walmart for $250 is not going to be as good as a name brand 3kw inverter for $700.
I've heard very good things about Outback. I have a GoPower that I really like. I also have a truck stop special that has never failed, so who knows? lol.
The thing that frustrates me is that I want a stand alone inverter in the 4k range, but it's almost the same price for an inverter/charger. I don't want a combo unit, but by the time you price out switches and all that, the combo units end up being worth it even if not using the charger portion.
Anyway, went a bit off track there... - My preference is GoPower sine wave. I also prefer separate components.
- agwillExplorerWhat do you want to do? How much equipment do you want to run? Best is relative to needs, cost effective? Many quality units around.
- cavieExplorerneed more info. Straight inverter? inverter generator? What size?
