I feel very badly for you and your sweet little doxie, but in my heart of hearts I can only direct you back to your vet.
I worked in vet medicine for 25 years and while Dachshunds (and Boxers) can suffer from Cushings most folks in here are not vets (nor am I). We can guess until we are blue in the face, and offer you major emotional support, but you'd be far better off returning to your veterinarian and discussing your concerns and options.
I've had Boxers since 1970, and they are also be prone to this disease.
Good luck... they sure rip at your heart strings when they get sick.
