Back at the end of January I posted about the Shi poo known as Sam!
Sam was a scruffy fella and filthy and needed his shots updated!
Sam was not able to ride in a vehicle because he would get sick!
We used Happy traveler capsules with some results.
The vet gave us a couple pills to try and used one just once and it worked but made him so tired!
We took the advice given us on this site and other locations and started sitting with him in the vehicle and then a couple short trips around the block and then just a random ride for a mile or two.
The most effective break through was when we had him face forward while riding and that helped to relieve the fast passing scenery!
We purchased a THUNDER SHIRT but returned it last week!
Sam has surprised us, over the last month he did well on the short rides and no drooling or vomiting.
We took him to our sons home 60 miles away and he did great but just laid on my wifes lap all most of the way.
Yesterday, I had to make a trip to get some things 30 miles away and so my my wife and I were getting ready to go and here come Sam!
He would normally shy away from the truck but we invited him for a ride and he followed us to the truck and jumped right in when the door was opened!
We had him at the campground with us for a week and back home.
We don't require him to sleep in his kennel nor does he get locked in it when we have to leave and he just cant go!
He shows respect and tears nothing up!
Sam has shown himself to be a young boys dog and that's who had to play with at his old home, a 9 and 12 year olds, he has taken a shine to our 11 year old grandson but does cater to the grand daughter and our 4 year old grand daughter cant stop hugging him because he feels like a soft pillow! Sam digs it!
Sam was 2 years old when we got him so he is lacking it returning a toy or ball when thrown but wants to play anyhow and brings it back with a few feet of you and then taunts by kicking it, flicking it or bumping it to you with his nose! O r he just prefers that you fetch it yourself!
