Sooo, no I didn't almost shoot the police dog with a real gun. What I did was go buy a high powered BB gun in case any more loose dogs came at me or my dogs again to scare them off.

A BB gun, high-powered or not, IS A REAL GUN. Apparently you aren't prepared to handle a high-stress situation with ANY firearm. Your dogs were secured in the Xpens-if you don't think that's adequate then build a real kennel. If your inclination was to go buy a gun without thinking of a better alternative then you need to seriously reassess how your property is secured. And before anyone goes off "half-cocked", I have an alarm system and two dogs as deterrents. After that, all bets are off. You had the option to retreat into your home but you didn't take it. THINK before you become another statistic when a police officer shoots YOU (with every right to do so).
I'm thinkin my dogs are going to get killed by this one.
But were they? Did the dog make any motion to attack?
If I would of shot that police K9 dog there is not a court in the world that would have let me off regardless of the situation.
