The bile acid test results came back and showed that Andy has high liver values AND low thyroid, so the doctor suggested increasing the Thyroxine dosage to .2 twice a day instead of once a day, and to support his liver with Sam-E or Denamarin, and to begin feeding Royal Canin Hepatic food. AND no table food! I will pick up the food and medicine tomorrow morning from the vet. She would like to do blood work again in a month. As for the mast cell tumor, I'm to continue giving him the Benadryl twice a day and just keep an eye on it. Actually, it looks much better. If Andy's blood work does not show improvement, an ultrasound might be the next step. Right now, it's supportive care for the liver, and that's what we'll be doing. I'm glad surgery is not required now and how this program of diet and medication can possibly help. Thanks for your good wishes and encouragement. I really appreciate your input, Forum friends!
