The fewer the locations the cancer is found the better (regardless of the stage number). Most with peripheral lymph node involvement have more symptoms of disease before they are even diagnosed.
Diagnosis, staging and treatments have come so far and are changing almost daily, so there is always hope. Most I see that only go the pred route (no real chemo) last for only a month or two. Chemo really extends that. Several years ago, I had a cocker that was in remission for about 2 1/2 years before relapsing.
