Best vacuum for pet hair
I have a cat and a golden retriever and I can't take the hair anymore! Any recommendations?

I have a Sanitaire (commercial division of Eureka) upright - no bells or whistles (think "hotel vacuum") - but incredible suction. If I need a canister vac, I have an old Eureka Mighty Mite that has served me well.
On the other hand, my Cattle Dog sheds hair that's the canine equivalent of porcupine quills. I found long ago, that a damp terrycloth towel rolls up dog hair as easily as anything else - once I "roll" the dog hair, the vac can pick it off the furniture :-( If the hair is embedded in a floor rug, I spritz the area with water, then rub my rubber-soled tennis shoe across it.
