Blueberry pie
Yesterday Mikko took a whole blueberry pie off the stove I had cooling. It was a Village pie maker 15 dollar pie. I ended up dividing what was left between Lassie and Bud. I guess they had Christmas early.

- One of my Gordon setters LOVED blueberries. Problem was too many and well, you can guess!
- I was just thinking it may be a "blue Christmas". I hope you don't have any carpet...blueberry stain is not easy to remove.

One of my Gordon setters LOVED blueberries. Problem was too many and well, you can guess!- Oh Lord...... my old Aussie Nick was a counter-surfer: his specialty was homemade bread cooling on a rack. I'd push it back against the wall - but he could still get nibbles from the side :-(
Ike was my "saint" - I could have a whole spread of snacks on the coffee table, and he'd never touch anything. Granted, he'd sit and look at me with his "excuse me" expression - once our eyes locked, he'd look over at a piece of cheese, for example, as if to say "could I please have one of those?" I mean, when a dog is that polite, how can you say no?? :-) But one day, during a football game, I must have missed his messages, because he finally got up, walked over to a bowl of Doritos, gently picked ONE CHIP out of the bowl and ate it...LOL! - Our Flat Coated Retriever managed to get all the doggie rawhide candy canes off the Christmas tree without disturbing the tree or a single ornament. You have to have a sense of humor to own a Flattie.

Years ago I hosted a birthday party for a co worker in my home..all the guests were nurses that worked together but did not necessarily socialize otherwise...while we were having dinner one of the ladies had went into the kitchen and upon her returned, very quietly whispered into my ear " your Doberman is eating the birthday cake off the counter and I was not about to stop him " there's lots to be said in favour of little dogs with visual problems...no jumping up onto counters or dining room tables :o 2hams wrote:

one Christmas while we were at midnight mass our
Newfoundland had went under the tree..unwrapped a box of chocolates...yes..chocolates and liqueur filled ones at that...then very methodically unwrapped each piece and ate the chocolate...we almost had fits as it was now around 0200 hr on Christmas ...so a quick call was made to the emergency vet on call...he asked how much she weighed...and how big was the box...had she vomited etc...and decided she would be ok and to call back if she became ill...
You just have to love what these furry family members put us thru LOL- Ahhh, Christmas time...
We learned real quick to never put valuable ornaments below about 2 feet off the ground, for that matter nothing on coffee tables, the golden tails are just lethal. The only counter surfing experience was a whole loaf of bread.
One Christmas years ago, Dawn ate a bowl of hershey's kisses (foil and all) off a coffee table. It was a small enough bowl that I was only worried about the digestive consequences rather than the toxicity ones. She had very colorful poop the next few days.
