Were you warned to keep him quiet, no play, no walks or exercise? Our Rottie, Lady, had v/f pretty bad and I kept her mostly in the house. She also got stomach problems, I think gas, so I drove her to the grassy park to let her just mosey around at her choosing between rest stops. . I thought she needed to move around a bit to help digestion. Not strictly walking. Two or three days later we lost her. Her lungs bled to the point she starved out of oxygen. I feel it was my fault. Maybe Calvin doesn't have it as bad but I just want to mention what I learned the hard way. My Vet said some dogs get over it in three or four months and some take a year. It's some nasty stuff that comes on quietly. Buddy had a trace that disappeared in a month or so treatment and the Pit was free. I didn't believe the first test because he had a slight cough once in a while so I had him retested in case the lab made a mistake. He's ok..
Sam-e is a good for the liver. He's been on it for about eight years. No joint trouble either. . I know Calvin is in good hands.. He'll be fine..
