CBD oil

I would like to know if anyone is using CBD oil for anxiety in their dog. There is a vet, Dr. Michael Fox, that has a column in our Sunday paper that suggested it. I talked to my vet and they do offer it. In fact her mother is using it for her dog and it is working for her.

We are now using ElleVet, cbd oil, and it does seem to help him. But wondering about long term use.

Just a fyi, he is a rescue and have no idea his background, except to know he was found in a crate in the woods. He has been with us for 2 years now and is blind.

Thanks in advance for any information.

CBD oil comes from hemp plants not marijuana. There is some CBD oil from marijuana which has THC but that is illegal in most states.

Hemp and marijuana are made from the same plant. With limited exception, it is a crime to possess any quantity of either anywhere in the United States.
  • With all the brands hitting the market it’s hard to find one you can trust. I’ve been using CBD oil and a balm from Hempbombs. They use organic industrial hemp, USA grown. The biggest thing is they use a third party for testing. They both have helped me and my family. I’ve read where it can help dogs so check them out.

  • I haven't tried CBD on pets, but we have been using it in various forms in our household for ourselves for a while now. If we had a pet with issues, personally, I would definitely try it.

We buy only 100% THC-free CBD products. The CBD salve we have found especially useful, for localized pain, rashes, insect bites, etc. I recently inflamed a tendon in my wrist so badly through overwork that I could hardly use the wrist at all. I made an appointment with a good hand and shoulder doc I have seen before, but by the time my appointment came up to see him, the inflammation in my wrist was almost fully healed, by applying CBD salve to it several times daily. When I have inflamed muscles in my hand before, the hand specialist would give me a steroid shot in the affected area. That would bring the inflammation down so the area could heal. This time, no steroid shot was necessary, thanks to CBD salve!
