Coconut Oil-A Tale of Two Springers

We started Jesse on the coconut oil in the hopes of some skin improvement. It's only been a few days, so time will tell. He is now a coconut oil addict. I swear it's his cocaine! He's usually the fussy one and I know the steroids are affecting his appetite, but once he gets a whiff he gets absolutely possessed! Jake, on the other hand, will not touch it. And this is a dog who eats EVERYTHING. He has a beautiful coat but we figured a little boost wouldn't hurt. A definite no-go. Now here's hoping it helps Jesse!

    Tresomega Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil from Sam's Club. Big jug is about $15. SIL gets something similar at BJs. You can probably find something similar at Wal-Mart or any similar store. Haven't checked the grocery store.

    I told my daughter about the coconut oil discussion on this forum.
    Her 9 yr old hound mutt Remi has had an ongoing issue with a fungal
    issue.
    She's been to three vets now and they all seem to just want her to go on
    antibiotics, steroids and a special medicated bath at least every three or four days.
    Nothing is really helping, I always say she smells like rotten doritos and I don't really even know what that would smell like.
    So we are going to try the coconut oil....what kind or brand are you using??
    Anyone have any other suggestions?

    I have one other question...not related but Has anyone heard anything from Barb (kokosfriend)
    Since BenBen passed I have not seen her on the forum, I hope she's alright.
