Since the virus can be present on the pet (like surface contamination) what guidance is being given to protect vet personal while handling pets?
An example I think of for an asymptomatic (or sub clinical) infection is Lyme Disease. Dogs can test positive for antibodies produced by their bodies against the bacterium but have no outward evidence they feel sick and when treated with doxycycline the antibody levels decrease.
