I wondered what this tree and it's leaves might look like and found this:
Black cherry tree leaves, flowers, etc
The site is for horse owners but the description of the toxin is chilling. We'll all have to be more aware when camping, especially with dogs that like to taste things. It's good that we have this warning.
Actually Livestock poisonous plants is a good comprehensive list for poisonous plants that can also affect dogs.
FYI
Just so you know that the one 'pictured' is of the common cherry tree we all can identify.
This tree is a Black Cherry Tree and does not look like the common cherry tree with readily recognizable big blossoms and fruit.
It has very miniscule 'berries' and almost not existent insignificant small blooms that on this tree are over 40 feet in the air not in eyesight even if one could see that far up!
I thought this tree was an Ash Tree.
Here is a picture of it:

BTW:
I had horses and what I found is the list of poisonous plants listed on the internet for dogs is NO where's near a complete list, because it is mostly compiled of common 'house plants'.
If you want a complete list of nature's poisonous plants, and IMHO all of us that RV probably should have because we tend to RV in rural areas and walk them in open areas, is to look up Poisonous plants to LIVESTOCK.
That will list all the 'natural' occurring plants/trees that are poisonous. Go to the local Agricultural Extension websites for the info.
Albiet not every one on these lists will be poisonous to dogs or will present the same way, but what I have seen it is damn near all of them and will affect dogs one way or another.
When you have livestock you tend to be more prudent about what is growing around them.
Example:
Black Walnut:
A horse just 'standing' on a 12 x 12 bed of shavings with as little as a hand full of Black Walnut shavings mixed in it will drop a 1,500 lb horse with acute Laminitis and most don't survive.
Red Maple Trees:
I lost 2 goats to those leaves. The tree was part of the landscaping up at the main house far away from the pasture. But come winter when they dropped they blew into the pasture. :(
