Dangerously low temps/Florida warnings for pets??

I was adopted by a feral dog that spent most of his life in Florida. We took him up to Northern Mississippi and he saw snow for the first time. He hated it. When he walked he would lift up each foot and shake the snow off before taking a step. I wish I had taken a video of it. It was hilarious. He reminded me of a cat with wet feet.
