Does Anyone Travel with a Retired Greyhound?

We have been thinking about adopting a retired racer. My son and his wife have one and he is just the most amazing dog. You would think he would be very active but he is pretty chill.

My worry is that some parks have a limit on the size/weight of an animal, usually 35 lbs. My son's dog is twice that. We snowbird in the winter and I worry about finding places to stay.

Who else travels with one? Any problems finding campgrounds that accept larger animals?
Thanks!

The dog would get into most snowbird parks easier than an over 10 year old bus conversion!!!! However it is says Prevost on it, that is a different story.

  • The park we are in mow has a 75 pound weight limit. Our rescue Lab is right at 70. Go for it. You will not regret the decision.
  • One of our neighbors travels with 2 Greyhounds.
Never heard of any problems from them.
