Has the dog food industry AND pet owners gone over the top and crazy?
Sure I think so.
But IMHO, JMHO it has allowed many pets with serious food allergies and/or health ailments to survive where they otherwise would not have. Years ago there was not an over the counter convenient dog food that could fit the pets medical need like there is today.
So on that level I am glad it has gotten to where it is today.
I know the availability of these foods for 'us' HAS saved several of my pets. Just ask my 14 1/2 year old with a myriad of food allergies and in his later years added health issues that being able to select from these specialty foods keeps him happy, healthy and going and going and going! :W
