And it's a fact. I used to know the real numbers, but there are several "thousands" that join and just READ the forum and never post. There is only a couple of hundred of us that post regularly.

Soooo, IMHO yes, when we "revisit these subjects" it DOES get out to many many new RV forum members that just might not know that they should 'curb' THEIR habits regarding dogs at CG's.

People new to RV'ing sign up everyday to this forum and read it so again I think it's important that they read about these issues. And revisiting other subjects too.

New members are not going to do a search they are going to go directly to the forums and read them. How are they going to do a search on what they are doing wrong when they don't know they are doing it wrong!!

I personally think we ARE very instrumental in helping new members who might never post, get to know and understand the courtesies of RV'ing, visa vie by us revisiting subjects over the years. Albiet it's more like monthly for dog poop theads! :B

But's that a good thing. :C

I'm very conscious with my dog, especially considering there are a lot of people out there without dogs. I want to set a good example, especially in an RV park. I don't want parks to start banning dogs. So if they say to only let your dog pee in a certain spot, that's what we do. Just a little tug when he goes to sniff a spot and he gets it that he has to wait until we get to the right spot.

But this one time...

We stayed at a place that had a nice, large off-leash dog park. One afternoon while letting the mutt run around and do dog things, we got to talking with a few other people. My dog runs up to this lady and starts sniffing her shoes. Keep in mind that the people in the park all own dogs so it's usually not a big deal if one comes around to sniff. But, before I could reach him and shout, "No," in that really low, time-slows-down voice, he lifted his leg and began to pee on her. I felt so embarrassed. If I had him on the leash, I could've tugged him away. Thankfully, she just shrugged it off. I just couldn't apologize enough. It was one of those surreal moments when your brain just goes, "He's not really doing that... oh, he really is... OH BLEEP!"

He's never done it since, but I do not let him even sniff anybody's leg anymore.

Was it you I saw? ;-) LOL! I suspect that when there's ample adult beverages being consumed, a LOT of guys are "inspecting the forest" rather that fill the black tank too quickly?

I guess if I had my "druthers" - I'd rather walk through dog pee (or even people-pee), than through the toxic stew left behind by the "bug killers" who spray down their sites with God-only-knows-what.

because frequently it takes more than one dog to move 80 ewes and their lambs.

Think of the flies if you eat outside. Poor sanitation habits breeds flies. My favorite ice cream, Blue Bell, was recalled because of Listeria.



And why isn't one dog enough for some. About 6 years ago, at a Walmart off I-95, I saw a motorhomer put up a portable fence and bring 28 Yorkies out for some fresh air. I should have taken some photos. I do like Yorkies.

Just took my lab for her morning walk. Sure enough along the way we're "little" tootsie rolls. I'd already picked up the load my dog had dropped.

That is by far the best I've heard about yet! Wow, wouldn't it change the world if EVERY campground could do this?

I had a loud encounter this past summer with a lowlife, in a small Custer SD. campground. Every morning and evening he would walk his lab to a nearby park and leave several huge piles. At one point he even stood there while the dog left a pile in front of the door of a motorhome parked on the street. When confronted, he told me that there was no local ordinance, an there was nothing anybody could do to stop him.
On another occasion I was checking in to a very small, rural Texas campground. I was a bit surprised to see a flat screen TV, mounted on the wall behind the check-in desk, and facing the customers. It was a split screen, and was showing about eight different video cameras in the campground. The employee saw me watching it and told me that the whole system was installed to keep the park free of dog owners who wouldn't clean up. Prior to that, it was a running battle between management and lazy dog owners. Now they just knock on your door, and tell you they have you on tape, not cleaning up after your dog, and you're out. As in, no refund, no second chance, pack your trash and go. He said that the video system totally eliminated any dog problems in the park.
