I would think the area between the truck bed and the trailer axles would ride the smoothest? When we had our Class C, our dogs gravitated towards the front, where the ride was smoother; although I always had fresh water for them in the mid-section and by using a "Watering Hole" bowl, it never splashed out. I see the biggest problem with confining the dog to a kennel, is just finding a place for a large crate? On the other hand, if you can keep the dog in one spot and maybe even get a wireless camera to make sure he's OK?
