My bland gut diet for digestive issues in dogs doesn't have any dog food in it at all. It's small feedings of mixed boiled rice, boiled chicken, a little low fat cottage cheese and some Psyllium husk powder. I've kept a few rescues on that for several days until their gut settles back down...
BUT BUT.. spicy tomato saucy anything is far from a dog's natural diet. I never feed my dogs from the table (or while we are eating). Then you don't get that elbow nudging type of "begging" started.
Also, I'll take my vets advice over internet information any day. If you're dog's guts go haywire from what it's being fed go have a talk with your vet. Again... they'll help educate you on a few things.
