Ecuador & the wees?

We were watching the news about the earthquake in Ecuador and I suddenly remembered that's where Kathleen (Nabi and the wees moved to last year! Has anybody heard from her? Crossing fingers that the family is safe and well.
  • I've read that four Canadian ex pats died in the initial quake. I am sure there must be a lot of them that had left the frozen tundra for a warmer climate, though.Theres just about nothing that leaves you feeling as helpless and alone as not having access to the WWW.

There was also some pics of damage in Salinas from the earthquake but I was unable to determine how bad...the epicenter may have been 200 miles away but how was Salinas affected...guess we'll have to wait and hear from Kathleen, wish I too knew her last name it would be possible to check further.

There appears to be a few places named Salinas - I'm assuming Kathleen lives in the coastal city near La Libertad, which according to an Ex-pat forum received no damage.

  • Good job, research team! I keep remembering the photos of the wees on that balcony overlooking the beach. :E let Us know if anybody hears anything back.
  • I checked her address, and a map of the earthquakes - she lives over 200 miles away (yay!) - but that's not to say she has power/internet/cell service... keeping her in my prayers, too!
  • Here in So Cal, we've been through a couple of 6.something earthquakes and I can't even imagine a 7. Red Cross always sets up a "check the welfare" system when there's a large disaster, but I don't think I ever knew Kathleen's last name I am sure the Ec infrastructure is badly damaged, at the very least
  • Oh, I hope they are alright, they will definitely be in my prayers and someone hears from the soon.

It hit me when I read your title...I so hope we hear from them soon, it looks totally devastating down there.
    Everyone say a prayer.

I just sent a private message, don't know if she even has internet access or not, we may not hear anything for quite some time.
