Been reading about taurine and carnitine for heart issues in dogs. Not something I have hands on experience with, but worth googling.
Also some friends of mine adopted an elderly (shelter said 13, I would say fifteen if he was a day old) pom two years ago who turned out to have CHF. They are acupuncturists so they went the TCM route. Oh, he also had weak kidneys. Two years later and they still have him. I think they may be onto something.
