Fairwell to our loyal and faithful companion

Being it's the winter i haven't been online much the last few months. Monday of this week i made my routine yearly checkup/shots appt. for our 13 y/o Boston Beau. Nothing was amiss at that time or so i thought. Anyway the wife called me Wednesday evening before i got home from work and said Beau wasn't his normal self. I could tell this as well when i got home but still nothing overly alarming. Thursday evening the whole floor dropped out, he wasn't eating and couldn't go to the bathroom and was really looking bad. I had never saw one go down hill that fast right in front of my eyes.

My appt. was for 3 in the afternoon so i called our vet/friend and he said to bring him in at 10 and he check him out. By Friday morning he was looking even worse and i knew deep down something very serious was wrong. When i got him in they suggested an xray to check for a possible blockage. They found a very large tumor in his stomach and he was shutting down fast. We had to make the very hard decision to help him over the rainbow bridge. I held him and comforted him while he took his last breath. Just before they gave him the injection he looked up at me and i could tell by his eyes he was telling me it was time.

Whenever the wife and i was home ill or injured he would set on the couch as close to us as possible and if we went to another room he was right there with us every step of the way. He was our protector and faithful friend. We are very heavy hearted today but i know we made the right decision. I'm a 63 y/o man but cried like a baby. It was a very hard decision but one every one on here has had to make for there companions.
