Fence for dogs

DH and I have two dogs that love to camp with us in our Rockwood Roo. We are wondering what others use as a fence to keep dogs from running away. We are new to the RV camping world. We would like something that we can just open the camper door and let them out. How do you guys camp with dogs?
  • We would never ever leave our dogs unattended. We just don't care much for keeping them on a leash while we sit outside and are looking for an alternative.
  • Pens, while secure for your pet, and not unwelcome in many camps do amount to an unattended pet which is the base cause of leash rules.
A dog in a pen may try to dig out, be a noisy nuisance to others without your attendance.
  • Be aware that some campgrounds will not allow you to set up pens or fencing, or tie them up outside. It will depend on where you camp.
  • Can we connect several of the chewy fences to make a large fence around our Roo?
  • As we were into dog shows at one time, all our dogs have been trained from birth to stay in an exercise pen when put there. When we had Standards, we used a 3' one that they could look over the top, but now we only have a toy, so we can use a smaller one. When we had two bigger dogs, we used two of the ex pens hooked together for more space.
  • We use pen fence like these. https://www.chewy.com/frisco-dog-exercise-pen-step-through/dp/125049

Obviously your dogs height, jumping ability and desire to get away and run will determine if they try to jump it. Our dogs are small terriers and really just want to be around us so it's more of a formality and safety barrier if a stray dog were too approach.

My wife is into dog sports and these fences are called ExPens, search your local craigslist for them.
