Fort Wilderness is Pet Friedly

We arrived today (essentially for a veterinary meeting at the Gaylord and Marriott convention centers :B) and we saw a guy walking his pet pig in the 800 loop of Fort Wilderness. He has a trailer with a ramp and told Sandy he goes camping with him all the time.

I'll try to get a picture tomorrow.

What's the weirdest pet you've encountered camping???

  • I keep wondering how my dogs would react if they met a pig on a walk . . .

Every so often, especially in the Summer, we see people with these two legged pets. They are almost always running around loose, running around here, there and everywhere. Some people have them under control, but many do not. We have some down a couple of sites down from us right now.

    :)
  • We had a guest bring a pig to out to our ocean front motel several times. Walked him on the beach. Lots of sunscreen. Strangest part was they drove over from Orlando in a Corvette with the 120 pound pig on her lap.

Probably the weirdest/yuckiest was the single guy (no surprise) that traveled with several Sugar Gliders. You could smell them in the next space.

That is one pet I don't understand.

We have also see few Ferrets.
