fyi pets and deer

So there is no misunderstanding, our back yard is completely fenced (4 foot)but deer can jump a 6 foot fence. Yes Bucks are very dangerous during the Rut. But so are Doe when they have babies. Thank You all for the kind words. When we are out camping we have two 4 foot exercise pens, so they have a fenced in yard where we go. We wanted to warn people to be careful no matter where you are, it is something you don't want to see or experience, and if we can save one pet from being hurt from this post we will be happy. With Little ones you have to watch for birds of prey also. That is why I said wildlife cause it is not just the deer, but bear, cougars, birds of prey.
The dogs are no longer allowed out in the back yard. We are taking them out on the leash in the front, where the view is not blocked by the trees. We have no trees in the front.
