So sorry about your babies being injured... and you all having to go through that trauma. RIP little Honey...
One thing to consider in areas where there are trees is to clear out underbrush and "tree up" the trees (cut out lower growth) so as to remove cover that deer might be attracted to. You may still prefer to keep the dogs in the front yard, but it's something for anyone who has a yard that might attract deer to consider. More open space and less places to hide makes them less likely to hang out and more likely to be seen.
