Avulsion fracture of the proximal epiphysis of the 5th metatarsal bone (right forelimb) Moderate to severe degenerative joint disease (osteoarthritis) of the right forelimb carpal joint.
We recommend that Mikko undergo surgery to fuse the bones of the carpel joint of the left forelimb (partial carpal arthrodesis). This is a salvage technique as plates will be used to fuse the bones of the carpal joint and permanently restrict movement. This would help repair the fracture and slow the progression of osteoarthritis in that joint.
