Bent axle diagnosis

Had a safety check on our 2010 TT. Was told the axles were bent. Causing tire wear. Told the fresh water tank had dropped and was riding on the front axle causing it to be bent. Cost to replace over $2700.00. Called factory service rep and he said if that had happened the water tank would have leaked and / or fallen on road. After further inspection the service agent confirmed that the rear axle was fine. However the water tank bracket had broken or fell out.

I found this rather strange as the TT is covered under the tank and filled with foam. The cover does bulge in the center touching the axle but am thinking that could be because of the foam expansion.

I had TT on level ground....measured height from center of axel to ground. Measurements were equal. Placed a 2 foot level on bottom of axles at center and saw similar amount of open area indicating to me that axle still was retaining the original upward "bend".

As to the tire wear....checked online and found average TT tire life is anywhere from 5,000 to 12,000 miles. The tires on the camper are still the original tires and have 15,000 mile. This doesn't indicate to me that there is a problem with the axles.

We have NOT overloaded the trailer so am really questioning going ahead with replacing the axles.

Please help....is replacement of axles warranted?

Thank you.
