OH, some of these answers were hilarious!!!!
Disgusting things-to-eat aside, Ike could play for hours with an empty 20 ounce water bottle, especially outside, where in his younger days, he'd drop a toy off the dock; then run back to the seawall, and jump in the lake to retrieve it. Of course, there were a LOT of toys that didn't float, like Kongs and tug-o-war ropes... I finally learned to "frisk him" as he went out the door in case he was smuggling something....
Jimmy thinks the cardboard tubes from paper towels makes a fun toy (??? Guess he likes the noise it makes??)
Right now, Ben is into leaves. If the wind blows one across the yard, he chases it down and then picks it up; holding it in his mouth until he chases the next leaf, and so on and so on....
And Jack? I think he had 2 toys in his entire life - a monstrous uber-tough Kong; and a baseball-sized rock. Those were the only 2 things that could withstand the assault.... plus the rock kept his teeth a little dulled....
