my old dog was horrible about any kind of med. the best way to give a liquid with her (she was 70 lbs) was to have her sit, I stood behind her and reached around to the front. Pried the mouth open and squirted it in the back. close the mouth quickly and hold closed while lightly stroking the throat to induce a swallow response. one swallowed, give a treat. this was the only way I could give any kind of medicine to thAt dog, treats, pill pockets, peanut butter, cheese bread, canned food etc never worked for her. good luck.
