I've never needed the extra help, but I wonder if a little bit of peanut butter or some other tasty treat smeared then licked off the syringe. Or as someone else mentioned, first something tasty in the syringe then the meds. Maybe give the good stuff 10 or more times in a row at first to build a good association. Make the syringe a good thing.
