Hi guys! Remember me?
I know it's been forever since I've been here. Seems like I was here on the forums every day before we got our first RV and since then, I've just been too busy with life! LOL
Anyway, an update - we lost our male golden retriever (Reilly - the cancer survivor) in September. We had to have him put down just 3 weeks shy of his 15th birthday, as his legs were giving out. My hubby is still so upset about it. We still have our rescue, Bianca who is now 13. She's been with us 4 years this month. She loves camping in the RV, but is very lonely without her brother.
We would like to adopt another older dog and I have been looking for MONTHS for one. I can't believe we're having so much trouble finding a suitable dog with so many unwanted dogs in America! Our local golden rescue doesn't have anything interesting and all the males are either mixes or HUGE! Since my hubby is now 65, I'm wanting something in the 50 pound range so he won't throw his back out lifting them up the RV steps. I'm thinking about a springer spaniel and have been approved by a rescue, but i can't get any information on the one I want to adopt and I'm ready to walk away. Maybe we just weren't meant to adopt another one ...
Anyway, hope everyone is well here. I see alot of the same familiar names. YAY!!! Oh, and Richard, we went to Hunting Island State Park the day after Christmas and had hoped to meet up with you, but you weren't there. :(
