Just be sure to thoroughly read the Side Effects and Contraindications/Warnings when 'not' to use loperamide if you are not under a vets care. Not all OTC meds meant for people are always safe to use for pets.

I quit using anti diarrhea meds years ago. Withholding food for one entire day/having water available at all times, can cure the worst of worst of loose stools. Withholding food is recommended by most vets as the first line of treatment, or should be.
As long as you keep feeding them you are feeding the bad bacteria that has gotten out of balance. Proliferating the whole cycle.
