First, I'd check with the vet or pharmacy to see if they can provide a liquid form, quite often they can. If not, then check to see if there are any problems with you dissolving the pill in a liquid to give to him. I had one med for one of my cats that could not be dissolved or it would lose its potency. If the vet says you can dissolve it, crush it as best you can, then add it to a liquid, either water or something else he might like (I used chicken broth for my cat on the pills I could do this with). You still have to struggle a bit to hold them and be able to squirt the liquid in their mouth, but they can't spit it out like a pill.
