Kudos to you xteacher...I too am a xteacher (retired)...and have a rescue...Baby Girl (a Catahoula Mix)...I write about her often...have even created a video of her entitled, "The Soul Of Baby Girl". As one responder said on my Facebook page about his rescue..."...she's not part of my life. She IS my life." That's the way I feelabout Baby Gir! Is Baby Girl spoiled? Yes, to a point. She also knows when I'm upset and I don't have to say a word. She is minding much better and her aggressions are not as bad. As one poster responded to me in this forum when I asked about aggression issues...look at Baby Girl as a difficult student...and you will be fine. As a teacher I gave students value, direction, consistency and LOTS of patience. That formula is working well for me with Baby Girl and it will work for you. People who have such feelings for animals have a special gene in their heart that others don't. It's up to us to help develop that gene in others. Congratulations...you will be fine.
