Puffy's now following us around the house and is getting better about us touching him, but we have to move in super slow motion and speak very low - can't look him directly in the eyes either, at least not very long. He still has that flight mentality big time! Here's a photo of him trying to sleep sitting up "just in case". He was weaving back and forth, poor guy, too afraid to relax and lie down. He'll lie down if one of us is holding him on the couch, or when he's in his crate. If he's "exposed", no way. He's still not sure he's in a safe place.
I clipped his shaved areas yesterday, and I was pleasantly surprised that he didn't totally spaz out! The only area where he drew the line was with his front feet - not a happy camper with those, at all. I had to do one front foot, then shave another area, then come back to the other front foot. He didn't mind the back feet; just didn't like me touching, much less shaving his front feet.
It's only been a week, so overall, we're happy with his progress. He actually scratched at the back door this morning to let us know he wanted to go out! :B He's learned that by watching the other two dogs, I think. They ring the jingle bells hanging on the door, but I'll take the scratching from Puffy for now.
