Puffy's now going outside loose with the other two dogs! He does okay with that b/c he copies what they do. If we put him out by himself, we still use the tie-out.
He's still following us EVERYWHERE, but he'll often turn and run if he thinks we want to catch him. Occasionally, he'll let us approach (very slowly) and touch his shoulder with the back of our hand and then scratch his back, but his skin crawls visibly when we first touch him - a friendly touch is so foreign to the poor guy. Once he's been petted for a few minutes, he relaxes and really seems to enjoy it. However, the whole senario repeats itself each time he's touched. Hopefully, he'll eventually learn that we're not going to hurt him, and he won't recoil at our touch. Bless his heart, he gets so exhausted just being on full alert all the time (ex: see photo from the other day of him trying to sleep sitting up).
