OK, no problemo's, if it helps, it'll be more then worth it. Well, it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one these kinds of things happen too.

Update Fridays, 05.27.2016: Okey-Dokey, ... production person is NOT the one on vacation. So, ... Calvin's brace in being made as I'm posting this, post. Should be here by the end of next week.

Anywhos, since I was figuring a delay. I founds a place that makes something called a "Hock Holder". So, I "OPENED" my wallet, actually used an online pay'in site (ain't giving no one free advert, if they ain't pay'in me), so no moths came fly'in out!

After the person who designed the thing, confirmed his size. Now get this, .....

Guess what they charge fur shipping (2 days, at that)?

$7.00

Yeah, dats rights, ... $7.00 smack-a-roos! ... :S

Okey-Dokey, ... gotta gets to beds now!

I hate paying shipping and handling fees.... I have no problem paying actual shipping charges -- but some places jack up the cost with their "handling" charges.

But in the end, when Calvin gets his brace and it does what it's supposed to do, to make it easier for him to get around, or keep him comfortable.... it will be well worth whatever it costs.
Good thoughts that it arrives soon and it helps him out.

Fer once, I'm with Pops on this one! That's ridiculous. I've bought stuff like that, paid the s/h and then had it arrive in a first class envelope for less than a dollar postage.

Usually what I'll do is check all over the web, including Amazon and eBay and see if somebody has a better deal on the same item.

I hear you on the shipping costs, and the larger companies that are processing tons of orders can offer less expensive shipping options. I own a mail order business to sell some items I designed and are unique. After fussing with doing all of the order processing, packaging, and shipping myself, I hired a fulfillment company to handle it all for me. So for each order that comes in, there is a processing fee for them to put the order into the system, a fee to take the item out of inventory and prepare it for shipping, a fee to package the order, and of course the cost of the box and the actual shipping costs. I did adjust product costs to capture some of this, but the residual gets calculated into the shipping costs which we call "shipping and handling." Some of this can be saved by using usps supplied shipping supplies, which I have done, but I had problems going that direction and have ended up shipping everything fed ex.

Thanks, we took his measurements again, then sent the order in today. I have to wait for the company's production person's approval (the one who makes the brace), that all looks good with the order / measurements. After which, the process will begin.
