Jesse has crossed the Rainbow Bridge

The last 48 hours were pretty rough-Jesse started going downhill very quickly-becoming incontinent, walking in circles, losing the ability to walk-so we made the heartbreaking decision to put him down. I am so sad right now. I hope that Jake can persevere as an only dog, at least for now.

Thank you to everyone for all the advice and kind words when I've asked for help and advice. RIP my little Jesse-bug.

    Sorry for your loss. You were a great parent by giving your four legged family member the last act of compassion. It is always hard. We have had so many in the past that have gone on and are comforted by the memories. May you also take comfort in your memories.

    Thanks guys. Your thoughts are very much appreciated. How Jake (our other Springer) handles the loss is weighing heavy on our minds. He seems OK-a little lost maybe but otherwise normal. The big test will be when he goes to bed-Jesse will not be with him. He will definitely be allowed to sleep upstairs if he so decides. Time will tell.

    I'm so sorry. :( Those are really hard goodbyes. Make sure to give lots of extra love to the other dog (?) That may help all of you adjust.

    Sorry to hear Crowe, been there done that times 8, and it's always heart wrenching. Take comfort in the memories, they last forever.
