My experience with the Thundershirt and similar items mimics the responses in this thread. A large majority of patients where these were used had improvement in their response to threatening sounds, but certainly not all were helped.
In a few we combined an anti-anxiety medication along with the Thundershirt and that improved response. There were a few where there was little or no help.
I'm really glad we have progressed from the days where we just drugged them up until they couldn't respond to the stressor.
