Just ordered a Thundershirt

I have to give props to "Vetri-Science Composure Tabs for Small Dogs" (less than 25 lbs). They're liver-flavored chewies - I gave Ben 1/2 of a chewie at 7 PM; by 9 PM I noticed that he was acting sleepy - and by 10 PM when all the fireworks really started in earnest around us, he was sound asleep on the couch next to me. If something exploded close by, he'd lift his head and look around - then go back to sleep. He even went outdoors at 11 PM - but was too nervous about the fireworks, to potty - but I would say that even outdoors with small fireworks being shot off in our neighborhood, on a scale of one to ten (with ten being hysterically scared), he was maybe a 3?

So tonight, we'll do the same thing. I'll stay home from the big fireworks show at our State Park to monitor his anxiety level - I'm hoping to get him over this fear.
